What Oluwaseun Adeyemi Has Been Up To: A Chat with the Songwriter and Sound Engineer
Q: Oluwaseun, it’s great to catch up! Can you tell us what you’ve been working on lately?
A: Thanks! It’s been a busy but fulfilling time. I recently completed my business degree, which has given me a fresh perspective on the industry and how I approach my work. I also had the chance to collaborate with Tope Oki on a Gospel EP, The Flow. It was a beautiful project, and I’m excited for people to experience it. I’ve also been building connections with artists here in the UK and am working on a few things that should be ready over the coming years.
Q: Sounds like a lot has been happening! You’ve moved into live sound work too, right?
A: Yes! I’ve been working as a sound engineer and live recording engineer at a church here in the UK. It’s given me a different perspective on live music and audio. Every session feels like a new challenge, which I love—it keeps me on my toes and constantly improving my skills.
Q: How about songwriting?
A: Songwriting is still a huge part of what I do. I’ve been working with Kiyagi again, which has been great. We have this creative understanding, and I’m excited about what we’re cooking up together. I also worked with Gideon Peters, an exceptional talent, on the track Wonderfully and Fearfully Made, which dropped earlier this year, and Heartstopper, which should be dropping next year, I believe.
Q: Any last words on what we can expect in the near future?
A: For now, I’m just focused on growing my craft and working on these projects I’ve lined up. The UK music scene has been inspiring, and I’m looking forward to sharing more soon!
